You might wish to look at the Smith & Wesson M&P
Series handguns. They make a an M&P 9 compact that carries 12+1 and S&W
provides three backstraps to fit just about any hand size. I do not personally
own one but a buddy owns an M&P 40 and say’s it’s the best gun he has ever
owned.

I personally use a Ruger LCR in 38 SPL +P and a Springfield
EMP in 40 S&W. Love both. My wife shoots a Walther P99QA in 9mm and loves
it. The Walther is a little on the larger size and deep-concealment can be
tricky though. I personally do not favor the ambi-mag release on the
trigger-guard of that gun as I am an old school shooter used to a side mag
release, otherwise, the gun is a
great fit and shoots very accurate.

Ask yourself a couple questions first before buy about what add-on’s, if any, that you may want on
the handgun such as: accessory rails? Laser Grip’s? Holster to carry with?
Tritium Sights? Many models of handguns come with, or without, an accessory rail. Hand-grips can also
play an important part of your purchase for example: I put Crimson Trace Laser
Grips on my Ruger LCR and found the gun very unmanageable to shoot +P
ammunition through it and maintain a strong grip. The “Hogue Mono-Grip” it
comes with is FAR SUPERIOR [IMHO] and I was willing to give up the Laser for a
solid grip.

How do you plane to carry the firearm? In a Pocket? IWB?
OWB? Etc…. Some newer model firearms such as the Springfield EMP has a very
limited availability of aftermarket products that are manufactured for that
model handgun. Fortunately for me, “Crossbreed Holsters” makes an awesome IWB
holster that works ideally. Other than them, your choices are minimal. If you
plan pocket carry of any gun, I would recommend the firearm come “dehorned”
from the factory. This helps eliminate snags on clothing for a smooth rapid
withdrawl.

Anyway, I would
think you’ll get lot’s of responses to this question as opinions are many. Take
a look at “Para USA”. They offer a 9mm that is small enough to fit in the palm
of your hand. Of course, the trade off for small stature is, increase in recoil
from such a small bbl. May want to keep that in mind! “Kimber” offers an
excellent CCW 9mm handgun and quality is top notch. Springfield XD series
handguns are great quality as well. I used to own a Sig Sauer P226 in 9mm and
I’m ready for another. One could easily argue it is of large frame and it would
be hard to conceal, though not
impossible. I love my Sig’s and
they never fail. That’s a big checkmark in my book!

Here is a place that offers some really great deals on Handguns.

One of our favorites are Walther P99. It seems to be somewhat of a larger gun but fits the hand like a glove and shoots well. Smaller options that we like are the Ruger LCR or a Springfield EMP. The Ruger is lighter and smaller but the EMP is more accurate for us.
